however, those who operate with General Liability,
(naming the property owner as additional insured)
may help to avoid litigation against property damage
and potential construction defects claims!

scheduling the Estimate ask:
√
What rating do they hold with the BBB,
√ Are they licensed for the scope of work,
√ Will they subcontract any portion of the project to an unlicensed contractor,
√ Do they operate with pieceworkers, or hourly employees,
√ Carry Workers Comp or a Certificate of Self Insured,
√
How long in business,
√ Ask to be named as "Additional Insured" under their General Liability; just in case you hired the wrong contractor!
√ Ask for photos of similar projects to help understand their proposed scope of work.
